Truly speaking, I have encountered so many ungrateful people who I regret helping, after rendering help to them. But I have not taken time to figure out what could really make one ungrateful, instead of being appreciative.
After some of my researches about these group of ungrateful people, I have this to say.
But before, moving into this discussion, we must try to understand the meaning of ungratefulness or ingratitude, so that we shall drive these explanations home to the understanding of everyone.
What Is Ungratefulness?
In a layman's understanding, ungratefulness is an act of not appreciating a good deed done by someone for another individual, such as relative, friend, spouse, neighbor or even a stranger, which makes the doer of the good deed regarded as a fool in the eyes of the receiver of the good deed.
Having stated this briefly, there is something very important I have to unveil, so that you will understand why some people are ungrateful no matter how small or big, what they received from the giver could be.
This brings us to the question of Why Are Some People Ungrateful?
Read this carefully; There are 3 reasons people show act of ingratitude (ungratefulness)
1. Greed
A greedy person no matter what he or she gets from a receiver, finds it difficult to appreciate the gift. What always comes to mind is that the giver has enough, why give me this little? This simply means that the receiver expects more from the giver, without knowing how the giver managed to raise the gift to give out from a cheerful heart.
2. Envy
There are some group of receivers who will be envious of the giver, because the gift is not coming out from them. They are not happy with giver simply because he/she is on the giving side, while they are on the receiving end. No matter what you give them, they will not be pleased.
There are people even if they are not your relatives, don't appreciate your gift because they see it that they are entitled to the gift coming from you, therefore there is no point appreciating you for the gift.
These three groups of ungrateful people are the reason some good people are restricting their act of kindness, which can affect the people with appreciative spirits, who have not yet been discovered by these cheerful givers.
When we learn to appreciate the little gift we receive from people, more will come to us.
